I'll let the pictures do most of the talking

There is probably a lot I'm forgetting, but this is what I can remember from my first 2 months in Japan. I've been ridiculously busy!

This is the plane that took us from Chicago to Tokyo (13 hours. 13. hours.). Japan Airlines really does have incredible customer service, especially compared to the horrible flight attendants on the american airlines flight to Chicago. Liz and I asked and we got a seat in between us so we got to spread out. There were screens in front of us and no one behind us, and we got to fly on the second story of the plane. Here's the flight path:

We flew over the Rockies and Alaska. We only got to see a little of the rockies from REALLY high up and nothing of Alaska, but I still feel I have bragging rights XD Anyways, after 26 hours in airports and on airplanes, we arrived at Narita airport in Japan. It would have more exciting had I not felt like I was dying.

After we got to Kansai airport in Osaka, a shuttle took us on the 2 hour drive between Osaka and Kyoto. Having not really slept for 30-something hours at this point, I was a little out of it. So, we went to a convenience store for some dinner. I tried to buy a sandwich, drink and pudding for 5000 yen (50$)!

Funny thing is, it only cost 500yen (5$). The attendant at the store was really nice about and gave me back the extra money. I ate and went to bed, but when I woke up I noticed something:

mountains!
more later...
